It may
seem like Bob Android space terrifying creature from a science
fiction movie, but this device could be the future of the
fight against crime!
Bob is the
first security guard robot in the United
Kingdom and is the newestemployee use G4S to help
secure based in Gloucestershire and is
a Blueindependent prowling the corridors of
the office and can ask for help if stuck
insomewhere as he can talk to his
colleagues and is part of a pilot
project the robot from the University of Birmingham aims to
disseminate the robots in offices all over the
world.
Bob moves from
room to room, using scanning
and three-dimensional imaging in the
event observed that something has changed since his last
visit, he quickly analyzes itand sends the information to
the security guard is real
Using cameras and
scanners can create a map of the robot Bob surrounding area, keeping office
locations and chairs, as well as the disclosure of people who move and learn
the changes in the surrounding environment.
Dr Nick Hawes from the Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Birmingham that the robots current does not know how to use hands, and is not able to deal with things, but Bob is good at moving between offices and monitor changes and objects, so it is perfect for a job in the field of security as can guard day and night and monitor what is happening in his immediate surroundings, but we want to see Bob the other tasks the most complex and the most accurate.

The project led by
the School of Computer Science at the University

to Bob Werner called in a care home in
Vienna, Austria, as part of the same
project. And Werner's mission is to implement security
functions like Bob, but he is also able to play simple
games with the residents of the nursing home.
